Films 10 9HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (10/9/17) — Saturday night is fright night at the Historic Alhambra Theatre in downtown Hopkinsville.

Hell’s Half Acre, produced by independent filmmaker and Madisonville native Chad Fuller who currently resides in Hopkinsville, worked alongside co-producer Matt Green of Greenville. Their movie is set to premier Saturday, which was filmed around Madisonville and other areas. They began working on the endeavor last year.

"We planned an October premier," Fuller said, who attended West Hopkins as a freshman, and then transferred to Hopkinsville High School, where he graduated in 1991.

Fuller and Green Productions filmed parts of the movie at Hopkins County Historical Society in addition to a few other places around Hopkins, Fuller said.

From 6 p.m.-midnight, Alhambra Theatre will feature independent movies by filmmakers from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.

The red carpet rolls out at 6 p.m., with screening beginning 7 p.m. that includes films Random, Out of My Mind, Tallyho, The Beast in the Cave, The Prisoner of Perdition, The Switch and Hell’s Half Acre.

Fuller says some of the directors and actors will be present during the event.

Ticket prices are $5 and kids under 10 are admitted free. Proceeds will go toward renovations at the theatre.
