Ohio County EaglesPADUCAH, Ky. (10/1/17) — Host McCracken County wouldn't allow Ohio County to return to the win column in a Class 6A, District 1 football game on Friday night, defeating the Eagles 48-20.

Ohio County suffered its second straight setback. With the loss, Ohio County dropped to 5-2 overall and 0-2 in Class 6A, District 1.

With the win, McCracken County improved to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the district.

TaeShawn Allen led McCracken County to the win, rushing 18 times for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

McCracken County excelled both on the ground and through the air. Quarterback Elijah Wheat completed 14-of-18 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns with one interception for the Mustangs.

Spreading the football around, Wheat completed at least one pass to eight different receivers. Skyler Mayes and Andrew Vanderford hauled in one touchdown pass reception apiece for McCracken County in the victory.

Offensively for Ohio County, quarterback Heath Simmons completed two scoring passes to Shane Frady. Simmons' scoring passes covered 16 yards and 30 yards, respectively.

In addition to the aerial strikes, Caden Brown rushed for a 29-yard touchdown for the Eagles.

Ohio County has the week of Friday, Oct. 6 open.
