(1/7/18) — Midway throughout the 2017-18 boys' high school basketball season, Madisonville-North Hopkins and Webster County share the bragging rights for the best record among Second Region teams. Both Madisonville-North Hopkins and Webster County are 12-5 overall.

The Maroons slipped to 12-5 following a loss to University Heights on Friday night.

The Trojans dropped to 12-5 after falling to host Caldwell County in the 6th/7th District Challenge on Saturday.

Livingston Central, University Heights, Trigg County, Hopkins County Central, Caldwell County, Union County, Henderson County, Hopkinsville, Dawson Springs, Crittenden County, Fort Campbell and Lyon County are ranked behind the Maroons and Trojans.

Madisonville-North Hopkins is slated to visit Caldwell County on Tuesday while Webster County entertains Henderson County. The tip-off for each upcoming boys' high school basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m..
