football helmet 300LOUISVILLE, Ky. (1/8/18) — Daviess County junior wide receiver Marquel Tinsley and Ohio County senior linebacker Heath Simmons have earned All-USA Kentucky Football Second Team honors from USA Today. 

Tinsley (6-2, 210) ranked as one of the state's top receivers throughout the 2017 season. In 12 games, Tinsley hauled in 76 receptions for 1,447 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Tinsley, who recorded 38 tackles on the defensive side for the Panthers, emerged as an offensive threat shortly after Daviess County's 2017 season kicked off.

Simmons (6-4, 215), a versatile performer, pulled double-duty for Ohio County, leading the Eagles both defensively and offensively. Defensively, Simmons ranked as one of the state's top linebackers.

On the offensive side as the Eagles' quarterback, Simmons completed 197-of-320 passes for 2,442 yards and 32 touchdowns in 11 games.
