Madisonville North Hopkins MaroonsPRINCETON, Ky. (1/10/18) — Madisonville-North Hopkins led 29-25 at halftime but couldn't hold off the host team after intermission as homestanding Caldwell County pulled out a hard-fought 58-54 win in a Seventh District girls' basketball game on Tuesday night.

With the loss, Madisonville-North Hopkins slipped to 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the Seventh District

Caldwell County improved to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in the district with the win.

Jacey Jaggers led Caldwell County with 16 points. Caldwell County featured three scorers in double figures as Bella McConnell contributed 14 points and Peyton Young chipped in 11 points.

The Lady Tigers excelled shortly after the break, outscoring Madisonville-North Hopkins 17-8 in the third quarter.

Courtney Peyton led Madisonville-North Hopkins with a game-high 19 points.

Camryn LaGrange finished directly behind Peyton in the Madisonville-North Hopkins scoring column, posting 18 points.
