Daviess County HS logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (1/21/18) — Ragan Howard converted on a three-point play with 5.6 seconds remaining to lift Daviess County over visiting Owensboro 59-57 in a Ninth District girls' basketball game on Saturday night.

With the win, Daviess County improved to 8-11 overall and 3-2 in the Ninth District.

Owensboro slipped to 5-11 overall and 0-5 in the district with the loss.

Emma Anderson led Daviess County with 19 points. Anderson netted 11 points for the Lady Panthers in the fourth quarter.

Daviess County featured three scorers in double figures as Howard and Mikayla Hamilton added 11 points apiece.

Jaleah Tutt led Owensboro with a game-high 22 points. Tutt was the only Owensboro player to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Longtime Ninth District rivals, Daviess County and Owensboro swapped leads in each half. Daviess County led 32-28 at halftime but faced a two-point deficit at the conclusion of the third quarter. Finishing strong, Daviess County outscored Owensboro 19-15 in the final period.
