Owensboro Red Devils logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (1/21/18) — Cory Gardner scored a game-high 25 points and Deonte Douglas contributed 23 points to lead Owensboro past host Daviess County 82-65 in a Ninth District boys' basketball game on Saturday night.

Owensboro improved to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the Ninth District with the win.

With the loss, Daviess County dropped to 12-7 overall and 3-2 in the district.

Owensboro, which had four players reach double figures in the scoring column, led by as many as 22 points in the second half.

Lance Lewis scored 13 points and Jeron Tinsley chipped in 12 points for the Red Devils.

Caden Coomes paced Daviess County with 16 points.

Three Daviess County players reached double figures in the scoring column as Blake Boswell and Nick Driskell added 10 points apiece.
