Daviess County HS logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/10/18) — The Daviess County Panthers wouldn't be denied a win in their latest outing. Host Daviess County outlasted Apollo 61-55 in overtime in a Ninth District boys' basketball game on Friday night.

With the win, Daviess County improved to 18-9 overall and 4-2 in the Ninth District.

Apollo, which had a technical foul called on its bench late in the overtime period, dropped to 10-13 overall and 1-5 in the district with the loss.

Five Daviess County players reached double figures in the scoring column. Dakota Walden led the Panthers with a team-best 13 points.

Following Walden in double figures in the Daviess County scoring column, Jay Owen and Caden Coomes contributed 12 points apiece while Blake Boswell and Seth Fenwick netted 11 points each.

The Panthers thrived in the free throw shooting column, connecting on 24-of-30 foul shots to shoot 80 percent from the charity stripe.

The Eagles were 5-of-9 from the free throw line.

Nathan Boyle paced Apollo with a team-high 16 points. Finishing directly behind Boyle in the Apollo scoring column and recording a double-double, James Graham tossed in 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Alex Gray added 10 points and a game-high eight assists for the Eagles in the setback.
