Owensboro HSOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/11/18) — Owensboro outscored host Owensboro Catholic 36-23 in the second half to win 63-46 in a 9th District boys' basketball game at the Sportscenter on Friday night.

With the win, Owensboro improved to 18-6 overall and 4-2 in the 9th District.

Owensboro Catholic dropped to 17-7 overall and 3-3 in the district with the loss.

Owensboro head coach Rod Drake had the flu and missed the late-season district game. Assistant coach Chad Embry guided the Red Devils in Drake's absence.

Lance Lewis led Owensboro with a game-high 23 points. Lewis was 7-of-14 from 3-point range.

Cory Gardner scored 13 points and Taeron Hogg added 10 points for the Red Devils in the victory.

Owensboro pulled away to win convincingly after clinging to a 27-23 lead at halftime.

JD Marshall paced Owensboro Catholic with 14 points. Marshall was the only Owensboro Catholic player to reach double figures in the scoring column.
