Owensboro Catholic logoBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (2/11/18) — Owensboro Catholic came up short in a bid to win on a neutral court as Fern Creek prevailed 46-38 in the Wes Strader Schoolboy Shootout at Bowling Green High School on Saturday.

Fern Creek claimed its 20th victory in the 2017-18 season.

With the loss, Owensboro Catholic dropped to 17-9.

Fern Creek improved to 20-6 with the win.

Jaylen Price led Fern Creek with a game-high 10 points. Price was the only player from either team to reach double figures in the scoring department. Finishing directly behind Price in the Fern Creek scoring column, Anthony Wales added nine points for the Tigers.

Owensboro Catholic clung to a 24-23 lead at halftime but faltered in the second half. Fern Creek finished strong, doubling up the Aces 12-6 in the final quarter on its way to pulling out the hard-fought win.

Luke Hayden led Owensboro Catholic with nine points. JD Marshall scored seven points and Peyton Survant chipped in six points for the Aces in the setback.
