GREENVILLE, Ky. — Kokomo Salon and Day Spa is one of the newest spas in Muhlenberg County.
Kokomo Salon/Day Spa is a full service salon offering hair styling, manicures, pedicures and facials.
Opening July 1 of this year, Kokomo offers a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service at competitive prices, said owner Linda Smith.
"We get a lot of business from the Graham area plus we get a lot of business from Central City and Greenville for manicures and pedicures,” said. Smith. “As an American owned and operated business we speak English which is not true for all businesses that offer similar services."
"Our chairs offer both a massage for the body and whirlpool jets for the feet," said Smith. "Sometimes me and my husband come down Sunday just to sit in the chairs and chill."
Smith said her prices are very competitive. Facials are only $30 and a basic manicure is only $12 while a basic pedicure is $30.
"I want to stress how clean my equipment is kept," said Smith. "Working with feet can expose the work area to various fungi. I triple sanitize my pedicure area with soap and water, then I flush the bowl and pump with a bleach solution for five minutes before I allow another customer to use the chair. I clean all my tools with soap and water, then I place them in Barbicide. I then spray them with alcohol to prevent rust and place them in a UV sanitizer for 15 minutes."
Kokomo Salon/Day Spa is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 4252 U.S. 62 West in Greenville. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred, said Smith. Gift certificates are available for purchase and all major credit cards are accepted.
