Wilson 2 9HENDERSON, Ky. (2/9/18) — A Robards man driving a red pickup truck caught the eye of undercover cops working a drug investigation at the east end of Henderson Thursday night.

According to Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, detectives received information about possible drug activity at a couple of apartment buildings in the area of Helm and Mill streets.

The agencies set up surveillance in the area, noticing a steady flow of pedestrian traffic going to and from an apartment building, according to the report. Deputies followed a red pickup truck that left the residence and made a traffic stop.

During an interview with driver David W. Wilson, detectives reported recovering cash, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, digital scales and other drug-related items from the vehicle. Wilson denied ownership or knowledge of illegal narcotics or paraphernalia in the pickup.

Wilson, 45, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth/2 grams or more) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was listed as being held in Henderson County Jail this evening on $2,500 cash bond.

PNTF indicated the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are forthcoming.
