Bronaugh 3 12HENDERSON, Ky. (3/12/18) — An alleged drug dealer claiming that he was robbed of cash found himself behind bars Sunday morning.

Henderson Police Department reported responding to a call at Lawndale Apartments in reference to a robbery. Wanya L. Bronaugh told police he was getting out of the passenger side of his vehicle near his residence, when a black man got out of a car next to his, stuck a gun into his right side and demanded money from Bronaugh.

Police said Bronaugh gave the man $650 cash. The alleged robber left with a white male driver in a gray vehicle and headed south on Fagan Street.

HPD indicated a “strong smell of marijuana” emitted from the apartment. Officers were given consent to search the home and vehicle, finding marijuana, digital scales and drug paraphernalia consistent with illegal drug trafficking, according to the report.

Bronaugh, 20, was charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was listed as being held this morning in Henderson County Jail on $200 cash bond.

Meanwhile, HPD is still investigating the reported robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call HPD at (270) 831-1295 or Crime Stoppers at (270) 831-1111.
