MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/13/17) — Construction of One Health Madisonville-Owensboro Health Multicare is expected to be complete in January.

Director of Regional Clinics Gary Lee gave an update on the progress of the new facility on Ruby Lane in Madisonville.

The 42,000-square-foot building is one of three healthplexes that Owensboro Health is currently building including facilities in Greenville and Henderson.

Lee said they are ahead of schedule and have an anticipated opening date of Jan. 1. He believes there will be a lot of activity in Madisonville.

Lee said orthopedics, pulmonology, and urgent care will be moving to the new building. The facility will also house occupational medicine, the lab and radiology with specialties like cardiology, OBGYN, maternal/fetal, pediatrics, and neurology services rotating through.

Multicare officials say it will meet the needs of women more efficiently with a service area including 3-D mammography and CP scan.

Lee said the big question he gets is, “what is going to happen to the old Owensboro Health/ Multi-Care building?”

Lee said the old building is such a big part of the history of Madisonville, that the building will remain and family practice will continue to operate, equipped with an MRI machine.

He said they are very excited about the Owensboro Health expansion, also mentioning the community has been very supportive.

President and CEO Greg Strahan said access to care needs to be as close to the community as possible.

“Owensboro Health is invested in this community,” said Strahan.
