Keown RMADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/21/18) — A driver that allegedly sped away from officers just after midnight faces multiple charges.

Madisonville Police Department reported being called out at 12:16 a.m. to 601 S. Main St. concerning a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot behind a closed business.

As officers arrived on the scene, the driver, identified as Robert L. Keown, 44 of Fenton, Missouri, began leaving, almost striking a police cruiser at the front of the business.

MPD reported Keown fled at a high rate of speed down South Main Street, weaving in and out of traffic, and continued south toward Earlington. The driver turned off the vehicle's lights after turning onto Sugar Creek Road, and went into a residence.

Officer located Keown hiding inside the home, according to the report. MPD discovered Keown had an active parole violation warrant out of Jefferson County, Missouri and another warrant in Hopkins County.

The homeowner, Judy O’Neal, 59, was also arrested and charged with menacing and second-degree hindering prosecution or apprehension.

Keown was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, failure to signal and driving on a revoked license. He was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail today, pending bond.
