Nebo Road Fatality

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/14/18) — Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office released the names of the two fatality victims from an accident this morning on Nebo Road.

HCSO said Aaron Utterback, 27 of Madisonville was headed south on Nebo Road at a high rate of speed. His vehicle exited the shoulder of the road and entered a grassy area.

The vehicle then came back onto the road and crossed over to the northbound lane, where it struck a vehicle driven by Mary Turner, 70 of Dixon.

Both Utterback and Turner were pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.

HCSO was assisted at the scene by Madisonville Police and Madisonville and Manitou fire departments.

UPDATE: HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (5/14/18) — Authorties have confirmed two people suffered fatal injuries involving a crash earlier this morning along Nebo Road near Manitou.

Hopkins County Sheriff's Office Major Will Coursey said at 10 a.m. that area of U.S. 41-A will be closed for another 45 mintues to an hour. Deputies are still investigating at the scene.

Names will not be released at this time, pending family notification, HCSO reported. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (5/14/18) — Emergency crews have responded to the scene of a possible fatal accident along Nebo Road near Manitou just before 8:30 a.m.

Traffic is being redirected through the Industrial Park area toward Madisoville. Westbound traffic toward Providence is currently blocked. The accident happended just west of Wicks Well Grocery.

It is unknown how many vehicles are involved. That section of road could be closed for an extended period of time.
