Smith S 6 8MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/8/18) — The Madisonville-Hopkins County Economic Development Corp. plans to host a women’s roundtable 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21 at Kentucky Innovation Station, 38 W. Arch St.

The mission is to provide networking, leadership, educational, and personal growth opportunities to a diverse group of women business leaders in the Hopkins County area, EDC spokeswoman Riley Dever reported.

Sharon Smith, owner of Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio, will be the lunch speaker and Gina Munger, owner of Gina Munger Photography, will be taking appointments to update professional headshots prior to and after the roundtable discussion. Paula Weglarz will be available to speak with women one-on-one about the minority and woman business enterprise certification program, which allows minority- and women-owned businesses to compete for work in states outside of Kentucky that require certification from a statewide body.

“My experience as a woman business owner has been enhanced greatly by the collaborations that I have had over the years with other business owners," Smith said. "I am very happy to be able to share information about my entrepreneurial journey in hopes that it can help someone else."
