mpd badge 30MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/13/19) — A Madisonville Police Department detective is seeking information related to a fire that broke out at an unoccupied home over the weekend.

MPD reported Madisonville Fire Department and officers responded to the home at 139 S. Harrig St. 5:45 p.m. Friday. A passerby called 911 to report the incident, and the flames were quickly brought under control.

The residence has been unoccupied for several months, Detective CP Haynie wrote, and resulted in no injuries to first responders. The home had minor damage.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

Haynie asks residents to report suspicious behavior or criminal activity by calling Hopkins County Central Dispatch at (270) 821-1720 or 911 for immediate emergencies. Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Hopkins County at (270) 825-1111 or call Haynie at (270) 821-1720.
