SACRAMENTO, KY., — Welcome to the 23rd Annual Battle of Sacramento.

It is in this place that Union soldiers under the command of Major Eli Murray, 3rd Kentucky Cavalry and Confederate forces under the command of Lt. Col. Nathan Bedford Forrest chanced an encounter on December 28, 1861. This year’s event is the 23rd annual reenactment of the Battle of Sacramento. The event has grown from 35 reenactors in 1995 to as many as 1,600 reenactors in 2001 from 16 states. As Kentuckians, our motto has been, “United We Stand, divided we fall”

The reenactment of the Battle of Sacramento is held the third weekend in May. For more information please visit
