burch arrest 2CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (1/22/18) — After a four-month investigation, Kentucky State Police has charged a Central City man with first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 12.

KSP said Trooper Brian Graves began his investigation into a complaint in September and obtained a warrant charging Matthew Burch, 34, with sexual abuse involving a child under the age of 12. Burch was taken into custody at 5:50 p.m Jan. 19 at his Central City residence.

The charge is a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Burch is being held in the Hopkins County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
