JUVENILE charged 300OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (3/10/18) — An Ohio County girl has been charged with second-degree terroristic threatening for allegedly writing a message on the wall at Ohio County High School.

Ohio County Sheriff’s Office charged the juvenile after an investigation this week into the incident.

Extra deputies were assigned to the high school during the week and other area law enforcement agencies were alerted about the incident for increased patrolling.

OCSO increased presence in all Ohio County Schools as a result of the potential threat and conducted walk-throughs at the schools at the end of school hours during the week.

In a press release, Sheriff Tracy Beatty said the arrest should help the schools return to a normal routine.

“This has been a very stressful week on students and parents. We hope the presence of extra officers at the schools has helped ease the anxiety that many people were feeling.

“We believe our schools and students can get back to a normal routine next week.

We appreciate our students support and tips for helping with this investigation. We appreciate the public’s patience and support during this investigation. We will continue our police presence at all of our schools and it will become part of our normal routine along with other added security measures.

“We here at the sheriff’s office are dedicated to the safety of our students and faculty at our schools.

"May God bless our country,”
