SnowyRoad 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/11/18) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet highway crews in District 2 are out treating and plowing roadways in Henderson and Webster counties.

The Union County Highway Maintenance Crew is out patrolling main highways to treat and plow as required, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported.

Crews in Hancock, McLean and Muhlenberg counties all report snow with crews on alert and ready to roll as accumulations require.

Meanwhile, crews in District 1 along the Ohio river are plowing and salting trouble spots. Crittenden County appears to be hardest hit by the heavy wet snow, with some locations approaching 2 inches of accumulation with occasional bouts of sleet mixed in. Crittenden County has five trucks out plowing and treating.

Todd said drivers should maintain a high level of awareness of localized driving conditions. Motorists should avoid overnight travel in counties that are hardest hit. The National Weather Service anticipates some localized accumulations of up to 5 inches.

Todd recommends travelers allow extra travel time on the morning commute Monday. While warmer temperatures should aid in improving driving conditions during the day, the morning commute is likely to include some hazardous driving. Appropriate caution is required.
