LAKE MALONE, Ky. — Kayakers will have reason for a “howling good time” during the Muhlenberg Humane Society “Kayaking for a Kause” event Sept. 9 at the Lake Malone State Park boat dock.
Organizers are asking for $20 donations for the Muhlenberg Humane Society to take part in the event. Those pre-registering by Sept. 4 are assured to receive a T-shirt with the Kayaking for a Kause logo.
Everyone will be allowed to kayak at their own pace to the destination of Shady Cliff Restaurant for lunch. Tow boats will be available for those that choose not to paddle the entire way. Everyone should bring their own kayak, paddle, life jacket, bottled water and lunch money if desired.
Sign in is at 8:45 a.m., and kayaking begins at 9:30 a.m.
In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 at Shady cliff Restaurant and then headed to the Lake Malone State Park boat ramp.
