CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. – Spring-like temperatures on Lake Barkley last Saturday for the Lyon County Open High School Bass Fishing Tournament did not make Calloway County High School’s top team of anglers feel any better has they came up just one single ounce short of the top spot in the standings. Marshall County came in first with four bass weighing in at 21 lbs., leaving Calloway's senior duo of Dillon Starks and Bracken Robertson a close second with their five bass-limit weighing in at 20 lbs., 15 oz.

Ron Lappin, tournament director for the FLW Everstart Pro Series, remarked that, "Calloway's organization and consistency will serve them well" in the upcoming regional and state completions, which will take place in April.

The CCHS Laker freshmen team of Camp and Falwell placed third with the teams of Salyers and Jackson, and Thurman and Jackson, posting top ten finishes.

Calloway's next tournament action will be the Froggyland Classic on March 23. The tournament is being hosted by Calloway County High School’s Livewell Booster Club and will take place at the Fenton Access on Kentucky Lake.
