MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Director of Sports/Medicine Rehabilitation Kevin Moser of Baptist Health presented at the Madisonville Lions Club Luncheon Wednesday, Feb. 12.
“Our Fitness Formula has had a lot of success,” said Moser. “Our theme and concept is that we are all on various levels of health, illness and injury throughout our life. What we want to be is that one place for all those needs.”
Moser said Baptist Health Fitness Formula offers members access to a variety of health and fitness services, with high-tech exercise equipment, personal trainers and affordable membership plans.
Classes and amenities are designed and focused to meet the needs of all fitness levels by a clinically trained staff, he said.
“With the fitness part, we are different, we try to integrate a lot of healthcare into our fitness model,” said Moser. “For example, if you have a major cardiac moment, you will have to go through a skilled cardio rotation. We offer a program called Cardio Fit, where one has to go through a three-month transition. We have had a lot of success rate with this program. About 80 percent, who go through this program actually stay on as Fitness Formula members.”
Moser also discussed the Pediatric Therapy Care program that provides physical, occupational and speech therapy for children from birth to adolescents.
“I created this a couple years ago,” said Moser. “It was created for physical, occupational and speech therapy for special needs children. Before, the only places for these children to go was Owensboro, Bowling Green and Paducah. So, geographically this is a huge area for this need of service and we have been working really hard on it.”
He described Survivor Fit, which is a program that was designed to meet the needs for those, who are recovering from cancer.
The program meets the specific needs to boost confidence, improve one’s mood, reduce fatigue, lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, help strengthen immune system, and diabetes, he said.
“We actually started this program last fall,” said Moser. “We now have a certified staff member that was trained in cancer fitness. Our Cancer Exercise Specialist will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your options.”
