DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. — Take Kids Fishing Tradewater Tournament is set for 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Park-Tradewater River in Dawson Springs.
The tournament is for children ages 3-15. Age divisions for casting and reeling categories are 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-15. There also will be prizes for the largest and smallest fish. Some cane poles and worms will be available for use.
Giveaways include new bicycles, kiddie fishing poles and other prizes. Each entrant receives a free T-shirt. There will be hot dogs, chips, cookies, lemonade and bottled water for lunch.
Pre-registration is $1 per child and $1 per adult, organizers said. Saturday registration is $2. Participants can register at Caldwell County Conservation District, Caldwell County Extension Service, Farmers Bank of Princeton, George Coon Public Library, Housing Authority of Princeton, Planters Bank of Princeton, Princeton Electric Plant Board and Princeton Water and Waste Water.
In Hopkins County, participants can register at the city of Dawson Springs, Dawson Springs Public Library, Housing Authority of Dawson Springs, Planters Bank of Dawson Springs, Hopkins County Conservation District and YMCA of Madisonville.
Registration is also taking place at United Community Bank in Clay (Webster County) and Resource Conservation and Development Area offices in Caldwell, Hopkins and Webster counties.
