Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is the best budget mascara you can buy online, by far. If you're tired of breaking the bank on high-end makeup, or even dropping a twenty-dollar bill on the good drugstore brands, this mascara does a great job for a fraction of the price.

Like most economical buys, it's not perfect. If you're a fan of the high-dollar products, and only the very best will do, then this mascara might not be the best choice. But for a few bucks, it's worth giving it a try. How much are you going to lose?

Everything I Love About Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

You Cannot Beat the Price!

If I'm trying to cut a few financial corners and plump up my cash on hand, I'll buy a few tubes of Lash Princess False Lash Effect during my monthly cosmetic buy. 2020 has been a funky year, and the holidays are right around the corner. So this is a product I'll buy to keep my cosmetic costs down. It would also make a terrific stocking stuffer!

It's Cruelty-Free

Most people don't know that mascara products (and most makeup, for that matter) are usually tested on animals in labs before being sold to the public. It's a nasty process. Scientists restrain animals with straps and furniture and poke them in the eyes with mascara to see how much it takes to hurt the animal or cause a reaction.

  • Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is NOT tested on lab animals, and essence is a PETA certified brand.
  • Ophthalmologists test it; people who are experts at human eye health.
  • It's also gluten-free, perfect for gluten-sensitive individuals.

Vegans and animal lovers can rest easy knowing this product was never used to abuse a little critter in a lab, and your purchase won't fund animal testing in any way.

The Brush / Applicator is Comfortable

I don't have exceptionally delicate skin or eyes. I can wear nearly any brand of cosmetics and use any fragrance formula without issue. However, some mascara brushes — I'm talking about the thick plastic bristles mostly — can irritate the base of my eyelashes. When that happens, it's not the mascara formula that's troubling me. It's the stiff and pokey bristles.

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara has a good, soft-bristled brush. I can use it every day or twice a day and never experience that tear-jerking poke of a stiff plastic applicator.

It Does a Great Job, All Day Long

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara does a stable job every time. Every bottle is the same quality. That's a big deal in the economy-cosmetics world, where quality becomes hit-or-miss over time.

  • If you need a mascara that will last from your morning makeup routine, through a day of school or work, and well into the evening hours, this product will do the job!
  • It doesn't flake or crumble or leave fallout on your cheekbones.

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara doesn't claim to be waterproof, but it does stand up to general wear. You won't get smudges after a few sneezes, a quick contact lens adjustment or other light touches that happen on an average day. It won't stand up to swimming, showering, or a hardcore workout.

It Washes Off With Soap and Water or Makeup Remover

If you're looking to tighten your spending on cosmetics, the last thing you want to buy is an expensive makeup remover! This product will come off in a nightly shower with soap and warm water, or your usual nighttime regimen. Baby oil on a cotton ball works well, too — no need to buy a special mascara-remover or makeup removing wipe.

It Looks Great With a Mask

This mascara goes on wet and thick, so you only need a few layers for a big impact and gorgeous eyes! It does a great job of lengthening lashes and giving them rich volume and thickness.

  • All mascara will clump a little, especially if it's getting old and dry or if you over-apply.
  • This mascara is no "clumpier" than any other standard drug store product and better than most economy mascaras.
  • You can fix little clumps of this product with a clean cotton swab. It rarely requires a complete re-start.

Again, this isn't a high-end salon product. If you're comparing it to a $39.00 tube of mascara, you might be disappointed with an occasional clump to work through. There are a few other things about this particular mascara that might turn you off. In the spirit of full disclosure, we'll tackle them too.

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara: the Disappointments

Product Performance is Nothing Like "Falsies"

The name of this mascara implies that once applied, it will look like false eyelashes, aka "falsies." It doesn't!

Nothing about this mascara product mimics the incredible length, strength, or thickness of high-quality false eyelashes. If you are trying to replace good false eyelashes with mascara, you're on an impossible adventure! No mascara product does that job. I feel like that's misleading marketing.

Instead of a falsie-replacement, this is just a reliable, affordable mascara.

The Tube is Smallish

Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is not a massive tube of product. That's fine for most individual users, considering how quickly all mascaras become dry, clumpy or feel draggy on the lashes. You're better off replacing a bottle every few weeks than getting frustrated over a big, useless tube of dried-out mascara.

However, if you're a makeup artist or using mascara for other cosmetic uses beyond daily eyelashes, this tube isn't going to go far.

Is it Only Available in Black?

At the time of writing, I cannot find this mascara in any color other than black. While I only use black mascara, I know many girls and guys who prefer a softer look or match their naturally blonde lashes. If you're looking for a soft, subtle, barely-there mascara, this isn't the one for you.

Overall, Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara, by essence, is a reliable product at an honest price. There are better products on the market, starting in the $40 product range. Otherwise, this mascara competes with most other drugstore and big box brands.
